These assault guns (Sturmpanzers) were versed in the schwere Infanteriegeschütz Kompanies of the regiments of Panzergreandier. They were used in Russia, in Tunisia, in Italy, and France. In June 1944, 12 specimens equipped 2 companies with the 38th Panzer schwere Infanteriegeschütz Abteilung of 2nd Panzerdivision.
